Gabriela considers herself a citizen of the world. She is a passionate artist and educator who inspires, guides and instills her values and work ethic in her students and her projects.
As director of R.Evolución Latina (RL), she has created and taught numerous acting and movement workshops for children and youth with the purpose of building self-esteem, empowerment, and leadership through the performing arts. Her love of community service has kept her committed to RL’s Beyond Workshop Series (an educational performing arts program for adults), as well as Public Works–a program of the Public Theater in which she designed a movement class for the senior community at the Bronxville Community Center. Gabriela also serves on the board of HOLA (Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors).
Choreography and Associate work include BEAUTIFUL: The Carole King Musical (Axelrod PAC), Desaparecidas- a Mexican musical, 2021 VIVA BROADWAY concert in Times Square, choreography staging for CHICAGO Düsseldorf, movement associate for Sweeney Todd at the Barrow Street Theater, associate choreographer for Public Works' Twelfth Night at the Delacorte Theatre. She has directed several Cabaret shows including A Mexican Affair at 54Below. She is a guest dramaturg and choreographer for Calpulli Mexican Dance Company productions including Dia deMuertos, NAVIDAD, Bodas Mexicanas and MONARCAS, a project that she holds very close to her heart as a tribute to her Mexican roots, Sweet Charity and CHICAGO for Preludio Asociación Cultural, Peru. She has also created choreography for Joffrey Ballet School's NYC Jazz and Contemporary Program performances, BC/EFA benefit galas, and the R.Evolución Latina projects.
Gabriela's jazz and ballet classes have reached schools around the world, such as Germany, Austria, Mexico, Peru, Sweden, China, and other countries. In New York she has taught at Ellison Ballet, PACE University, Ithaca College, CAP 21 and Joffrey Ballet School where she also served as co-ordinator for the Joffrey Ensemble.
